UNHCR relief news April 2021

On April 10, 2021, UNHCR focused on providing financial support directly to refugees and asylum seekers, allowing them to meet their most essential needs. This approach, described as “life-saving, efficient, and secure,” enabled refugees to make choices about how to spend their aid. UNHCR also highlighted the importance of ensuring access to COVID-19 vaccines for all people on the move and the need to address the long-term socio-economic impacts of the pandemic, according to the UNHCR website. Additionally, UNHCR continued to work with partners to ensure refugee camps were enhancing climate action and seeking sustainable solutions, with examples like the Zaatari and Azraq camps being 100% powered by solar plants
